The Pembroke Farmers' Market is the place to buy food and other products directly from local producers - producers who are eager to provide the freshness and quality you expect.
You'll find all sorts of locally-produced foods - from fruits and vegetables to meats, baked goods, honey, preserves and maple syrup. If you're looking for hand-crafted products, our artisans offer clothing, jewellery, soaps and skin care products, art-work and more.
History
The Market was first established in the early 1900's, and over time flourished as an economic pillar of the Pembroke community. It closed for a time in the 1980's, and was re-established in 1992. Since then, the Market has grown steadily under the guidance of a Vendors' Association and the City of Pembroke.
One of the Market's greatest accomplishments has been the construction of a 5,000 square-foot building which opened officially in June of 2007.
Strategically located near the waterfront, board walk and down town businesses, the roofed area provides shelter from weather for vendors and shoppers. There's also an enclosed area for vendors with meats. In that area you'll also find a canteen and a customer seating area.
And there's plenty of free parking and wash-rooms.
The construction of the Market building was made possible by the support of Ontario Trillium Foundation, the City of Pembroke, Farmers' Markets Ontario, Giant Tiger (Pembroke) and Farm Credit Canada along with donations from individuals and businesses.
We're delighted to be a vital and vibrant part of the Pembroke business community - helping to bring more shoppers to our down town.
